Richard Rager

KERNVILLE — RAGER – Richard J. “Rick,” 55, Kernville, died March 22, 2013.  Born July 14, 1957, in Johnstown, son of Richard H. and Lois J. (Powers) Rager. Preceded in death by his grandparents; father; and aunt, Carolyn Rager. Survived by his mother; wife, Glenda L. Miller-Rager; daughter, Carly, married to D.J.  Zahurak; son, Joshua Rager, married to Alyssa, of Imperial, Pa.; grandchildren, Michael and Madison Zahurak; sister, Cheryl Stephens, and John Heinbaum, Slickville Pa.; and faithful companions, Fred, Emma and Sally. Rick was a 1975 graduate of Johnstown High School.  He was employed by Beth Sholom Synagogue and formerly employed by Ace’s and General Kinetics Industries.   He was a former member of IBEW Local 459. He played goalie for many ice hockey teams in the Johnstown area. He was an avid Penguins, Steelers and Dale Earnhart Fan No. 3. Rick was a member of the Sons of Italy, Turner Hall, VFW and Polski Dom.  He will be sadly missed by his family and many wonderful friends. Friends received from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday,  March 26, 2013, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd., where funeral service will begin at 4 p.m.  Private interment, Richland Cemetery.
