JOHNSTOWN — PILJAY – James, 91, Johnstown, died April 3, 2013, at his son’s residence in Livermore, Calif. Born March 6, 1922, in Johnstown, son of George and Milica (Kunich) Piljay. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Marie (Curcija) Piljay; brothers, Michael “Cobby,” Edward and Joseph “Boz”; and sister, Anna Tobakas. Survived by son, George, married to the former Jackie Sims, Livermore, Calif.; stepgranddaughter, Monica (Sims) Carpenter; and sister, Dorothy Pekich. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. James was an avid armature radio operator “K3TLJ” and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. Member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Dragon Zaric, officiating. Committal, St. Nicholas Cemetery, with military honor by Conemaugh Valley Detachment 287 Marine Corps League. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Francis G.
