JOHNSTOWN — DUDEK – Henry, 88, Johnstown, passed away March 11, 2013. Born Sept. 4, 1924, the youngest child of Valentine and Mary (Nicpon) Dudek. Preceded in death by his parents; wife of 58 years, Helen Jane (Daley) Dudek, who died in 2007; brothers, John and Joseph; and sisters, Katherine, Louise and Helen. Henry was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by his sons, H. Michael, and wife, Dorothy (Walkowski) Dudek, Johnstown, and David J., and wife, Kathie (Adams) Dudek; grandson, Matthew J. Dudek, all of Hampton, Va.; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Henry was a 1943 graduate of JHS and served in the Navy during World War II. He retired from Penelec in 1989, and enjoyed time spent in his home “Victory” garden. He hiked the woods, planting thousands of chestnut trees over the years in the strip mines on the Laurel Ridge. Family and friends are invited to gather at Moskal-Reid Funeral Home, 79 J St., at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. From the funeral home we will proceed in procession to his graveside committal service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grandview Cemetery, Cambria 10 section.
