JOHNSTOWN — BONONNO – Frank J., 85, Johnstown, died Feb. 18, 2014. Born Nov. 28, 1928, son of the late Joseph and Veta (Pompanella) Bononno. Preceded in death by loving wife of 50 years, the former Anna Marie Tay. Also preceded in death by brother-in-law, Anthony Antinoro; and sister, Marianne, and husband, Rudy Mayercsick. Survived by sons, Joseph, married to Denise Tomasi, Reading, and their children, Tyler, and wife, Samantha Austin; and John, Salisbury, Md., and his children, Amanda, Olive and Andrew; and daughter, Susan, married to Daniel Elliott, Hagerstown, Md., and their children, Eric, Allison and Anna Marie; and great-grandchildren, Landon Bononno and Emalie Poe. Also survived by sister, Ida Antinoro; and special sisters-in-law, Helen Tay, Margaret Diamond, Johann Billings and Loretta Tay. Frank was owner of Westmont Meats for more than 25 years, and was a Westmont Borough councilman. In addition, he served on the following boards: Greater Johnstown Water Authority, Cambria County Transit Authority, Cambria County Area Senior Citizens, Mental Health and Retardation, Pennsylvania Municipal Authority Association, YMCA Indian Guides and Cambria County Redevelopment Authority. Also a member of Knights of Columbus, past Grand Knight and District Deputy. Frank was a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, where he was a member of the adult and funeral choirs, and where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, the Very Rev. Mark Begly. Friends received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. Entombment, Grandview Cemetery. God bless you all. (
