Kenneth Allison

EVERETT — ALLISON – Kenneth, 87, Everett, was called home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, from Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. Born Saturday, Oct. 16, 1926, at his family home in Geistown, son of the late Raymond Allison and Isa (Harbaugh) Allison. In April of 1985, he married Theresa V. (McFarland) Maniscalco Allison, who passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006. Survived by daughter, Nellie J. Timko, Bedford; grandson, Joseph Timko, and wife, Lori (Wiederhut) Timko, Harrisburg; granddaughter, Jessica Timko, Bedford; sisters-in-law, Ruth Allison, Indiana; and Nellie Allison, Johnstown; and many loving nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by infant brother, Wilbur Clark; sisters, Madeline Berkey, and her husband, Wade; and Olive Berkebile, and her husband, Melvin; and brothers, Paul Allison, and his wife, Louise; Roy Allison; and Edward “Dean” Allison. Mr. Allison was a member of Clear Creek Brethren in Christ Church. In his early years, he worked with his family at their farm in Geistown, and then served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a surgical technician with the 86th Infantry Division, having received the Philippine Independence Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. After returning home from his service to his country, Kenny was employed at Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown as a crane operator until retiring. He then enjoyed spending time with his friends at LaSalle’s Garage in Everett, lending a hand with cleaning up, assisting on towing calls or picking up repair parts when needed. He will be greatly missed for the many stories he had to tell and the company he shared with his family and friends. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, until the hour of service. Burial, Bedford County Memorial Park.
