Wilma A. (Yanus) Bitsko

JEROME — BITSKO – Wilma A. (Yanus), 78,  Jerome, died Feb. 20, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 23, 1935, in Johnstown, daughter of the late John and Anna (Krivanich) Yanus. She was a devoted wife of 51 years to Thomas J. Bitsko, who died Dec. 20, 2008. Also preceded in death by sister, Margaret Kutchman. Loving mother to Christopher, married to Tammy (Stahley) Woodward, Pa.; Laura, married to Ari Giannakopoulos, Murrysville, Pa.; and Mark, Jenner Township. Also survived by grandchildren, Luke Bitsko, Arianna and George Giannakopoulos and Sarah and Abigail Bitsko, and their mother, Connie; and special niece, Deborah Mishler, Thomas Mills. A graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School. Before having children, Wilma was an executive secretary for Penelec and Crane Co., Johnstown.  After taking time off to raise her family, she worked for and retired from Keystate Office Supply, Johnstown. Member of SS Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Jerome, where she volunteered her time in many different capacities. Wilma was a very good cook. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, doing crossword puzzles, watching the Steelers and spoiling her grandchildren. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where Parastas will be sung at 6 p.m. Sunday. Divine Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at SS. Peter & Paul Church, Jerome, the Rev. Monsignor Raymond Balta, celebrant. Committal, church cemetery.
