Georgiana M. McCoy

JOHNSTOWN — McCOY – Georgiana M., 93, died April 2, 2013, at Golden Living Center. Born Oct. 17, 1919, in Johnstown, daughter of Harry and Marie (Oswald) Hoover. Preceded in death by parents; loving husband of 62 years, Paul A. McCoy; daughter, Elizabeth “Betsy” Cruse; brother, Robert Hoover; and sister, Jane Sheavly. Survived by children, Paul A. McCoy Jr., married to Joy, Atlanta, Ga.; Lawrence W., Virginia; Daniel, married to Bonnie, Johnstown; Susan, Johnstown; Robert G., married to Vivian, Virginia; and Shawn, Johnstown. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She attended Greater Johnstown High School, where she was a member of the marching band. She was formerly employed as a cashier at the former Fort Stanwix Hotel and retired from St. Joseph Church, where she was a longtime member. She loved playing bingo and eating at the Corner Coffee Shop. She loved music and played the piano, clarinet and violin. Georgiana lived in Old Conemaugh Borough most of her life. She loved her family deeply and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Friends received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Father Matthew Reese. Interment, St. Joseph Cemetery, Geistown.
