DAVIDSVILLE — KOCHER – Margery S., 87, Davidsville, went to abide with her Savior Jan. 2, 2013, surrounded by family at Broadmore Assisted Living, Hagerstown, Md. Born June 2, 1925, in Bethlehem, Pa., daughter of the late John Christian and Anna (Miller) Stroman. Preceded in death by loving husband of 57 years, C. James “Jim” Kocher. Survived by children, Linda, married to Vaughn Stufft, Johnstown; Susan, married to Mark Thomas, Hagerstown, Md.; and Marilyn, married to Richard Mills, Columbia, Md.; beloved grandchildren, Lt. Michael Thomas, married to Kathryn, Jacksonville, Fla.; Zachary Thomas, married to Katie, Hagerstown, Md.; Daniel “D.J.” Mills and Kelsey Mills, Columbia, Md.; William Stufft, married to Ashley, Johnstown; and Matthew Stufft, Pittsburgh; and greatly adored great-grandchildren, Emma and Evan Thomas and Gabrielle and Isaac Stufft. Graduate of Moravian College for Women, with a B.A. in German. Affectionately known as “Frau” by hundreds of students during her tenure as German teacher and head of the language department at Bishop McCort Catholic High School. After retirement, she volunteered at Lee Hospital in the oncology unit. Member of First Presbyterian Church, where she sang on the chancel choir, participated in the women’s circle, and taught Sunday school. She was an ace pinochle player and champion crossword puzzle solver. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to meet for a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, at First Presbyterian Church, Lincoln and Vine streets, with reception to follow.
