MAINE, N.Y. — SEESE – Eugene S., 79, Maine, N.Y., died Jan. 30, 2013, at Lourdes Hospital. Predeceased by parents, Simon and Agnes (Brennan) Seese; sisters, Ellen Rita (George) Kestermont, Betty Marie (William) Jerome, Helen Louise and Eileen (Joseph) Zibura; brother, Brennan; infant daughter, Mary; and grandchildren, Samuel Guss, Maura Stark and Sean Seese. Survived by wife of 57 years, Dorothy A. (Valko); daughters, Anne Rita Stark, Connecticut; Rachel (Oussama) Itani, Florida; and Lorraine (Thomas) Novinger, Pennsyvania; sons, David, Pennsylvania; Stephen, Maryland; Vincent, New Jersey; and Matthew, Connecticut; grandchildren, Kathleen (Seese) Kubak, Kristen (Seese) Merrell, Michael and Allison Guss, Jillian Stark, Colleen and Risa Itani, Nicholas and Joseph Seese and Vanessa, Alexandra and Quentin Novinger, great- grandchildren, Liam, Kevin and Connor Kubak. Gene was a Korean War veteran, honorably discharged as a staaff sergeant in 1954. Graduate of Penn State. Retired from IBM in Endicott, N.Y. Member of Maine, N.Y., American Legion. Lifetime member of New York American Legion. Member of the Tau Epsilon Chi Honorary Engineering Fraternity. Commissioned as a parish business administrator for the Syracuse, N.Y. Roman Catholic Diocese, having worked at Most Holy Rosary Church in Maine, N.Y., and St. Patrick’s Church in Whitney Point, N.Y. Member of Alhambra Catholic Charitable Mens Organization and a lector for Roman Catholic liturgies for 45 years. He also was a 20-year member of the Town of Maine Planning Board. The family would like to thank Dr. Charles Campbell for giving them 12 extra years to enjoy Gene’s wisdom and love and asks God to shower him with a lifetime of blessings. Gene’s life motto was “All for the honor and glory of God.” The family will be receiving friends Sunday at Allen Memorial Home, Endicott, N.Y. Funeral Mass will be held Monday at Most Holy Rosary Church, Maine, N.Y. Interment, 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at St. Michael Cemetery, St. Michael, Pa.
