William David Burkett

HALIFAX, PA. — BURKETT – William David, 72, Bobbie Lane, Halifax, Pa., passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at his home. He was born and raised in Johnstown, son of the late Celestine and Margaret (Boughamer) Burkett. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and was a former custodian and former correctional officer at Lancaster County Prison. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Ann (Tomlyanovich) Burkett, at home; sons, David F. Burkett, Red Lion; and John, Aaron and Matthew Burkett, all of Wisconsin; daughters, Juanita Ann Heming, Elizabethtown; Christine Marie Stantz, Johnstown; Melinda Lou Christner, Red Lion; and Melissa Burkett, Wisconsin; brothers, Dick Burkett, Windber; Samuel Burkett, Johnstown; and Walter Burkett, Elizabethtown; sister, Isabelle Cherney; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, William Burkett Jr.; brothers, Ronald and Gene; and sister, Anna Hadari. Memorial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
