William J. Yogus

CRESSON — YOGUS – William J. “Yogi,” 63, Cresson, died April 15, 2013, at home. Born Jan. 11, 1950, in Cresson, son of the late William F. and Agnes (Luther) Yogus. Survived by wife, Barbara (Zachesky), whom he married June 15, 1974; and children, Amy Gorham (Doug), Red Lion; and John (Courtney), Hollidaysburg. Proud “Pappy” of Emily Gorham and Olivia and Cooper Yogus. Brother of Mary Yogus Davis, Livingston, N.J.; Francis, Palm Springs, Calif.; and Thomas, Cresson. Also survived by special cousin, who was raised with Bill, John Bauman, York; and niece and nephew and numerous cousins. Retired in 2010 as an engineer with Norfolk Southern. Member of LOOM, Gallitzin. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, the Very Rev. Father John D. Byrnes. Committal, church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gerald McGinnis Cardiovascular Institute of AGH, 320 E. North Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15212, attn. Fund Development; or to Home Nursing Agency Hospice, 201 Chestnut Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602.
