NEWVILLE — PLETCHER – Margaret Ann, 94, a resident of Green Ridge Village, Newville, Pa., died on the morning of Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013. Born Aug. 15, 1919, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Charles E. and Catherine Thomas Allison. Margaret was a member of Newville Church of the Brethren. She was a 1937 graduate of Ferndale High School and then went on to graduate as a registered nurse from Windber Hospital School of Nursing. She married the Rev. Ordo M. Pletcher in 1939. As a minister’s wife, Margaret served along-side her husband for more than 60 years in numerous Church of the Brethren congregations throughout South Central Pennsylvania. She also had her own career as an R.N., was an evaluator for Goodwill Industries, a teacher’s aide in the Big Spring School District and had worked in the human resource department of Ingersoll Rand. Survived by her sons, Randall M. (Donna) Pletcher, Newville; Trent (Clarene) Pletcher, Enola; and Reid A. (Linda) Pletcher, Shippensburg; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Charles E. Allison and James Allison, Johnstown. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ordo M. Pletcher, who died Sept. 10, 2001, and brother, John “Jack” Allison. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at Ridge Church of the Brethren, Shippensburg, the Rev. Earl K. Zeigler and the Rev. John F. Hess, officiating. Interment will follow at Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
