Robert N. Mattio

EBENSBURG — MATTIO – Robert N., 85, Mylo Park, Ebensburg, passed away peacefully Oct. 5, 2013, at home. Born Feb. 1, 1928, in Latrobe, son of the late John and Ann (Gaudino) Mattio. Preceded in death by son, John Robert Mattio; grandson, Bobby Mattio; and sisters, Minnie Lochota and Joann Mayausky. He is survived by his wife, Joann, to whom he was married 65 years; son, Robert (Darlene) Mattio, Hollidaysburg; grandson, Justin (Ivy) Mattio, Chicago, Ill.; granddaughter, Michelle Mattio, Hollidaysburg; and great-grandson, Kameron Rice. Also survived by sisters, Josephine Bonini, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Annie Plowcha, Homer City, and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws. Bob was a retired postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Johnstown, and in his retirement served as a driver for the Ebensburg Senior Citizens. An Army veteran, he enjoyed working around his house and his many trips to the Walmart. Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg, the Rev. Asa Sherman, officiating.  Entombment. Holy Name Mausoleum. In lieu of other memorials, the family suggest donations be made to Twin Rocks Pilgrim Holiness Church.
