Dorothy A. Crum

PORTAGE — CRUM – Dorothy A., 84, Portage, passed away Nov. 7, 2013, at Maple Winds Care Center. Born Aug. 29, 1929, in Portage, daughter of John and Edna (Rhodes) Causer. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John J. Crum; brothers, Calvin J. Causer and James Wilbur Causer; and sisters, Viola Mae Bunachick-Bastine and Mildred Ethel Novotny. Also preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Joseph Stokes, Steve Novotny, Ron Albright and Frenchie Bastine; sister-in-law, Dolores Causer; and niece, Thelma Lego, and husband Albert. Survived by children, David James Crum, married to the former Marilyn Marconi, Astoria, N.Y.; Kenneth John Crum, married to the former Connie Fleck, Wilmore; Jean Ann, wife of Ed Sease, Portage; Mark Allen Crum, Surprise, Ariz.; Lori, wife of Joseph Yanov, Portage; and Jill Marie, wife of Mark Gabany, Mineral Point. She will be sadly missed by her 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Sister of  Gladys Ruth, wife of Merle Thomas; Eleanor Stokes; Edwin Charles Causer, married to the former Shirley Phillips; and Shirley Albright, all of Portage. Also survived by sister-in-law, Lucille (Elliot) Causer. She was a cashier for Stagers Store and enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening, but mostly gabbing with family and friends. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Michael Long, officiating. Committal, Mount Union Cemetery, Summerhill Township.
