EAST TAYLOR TOWNSHIP — GILLIN – Willa Jean, 87, East Taylor Township, went to be with her Lord Sept. 4, 2013, at Church of the Brethren Home. Born Sept. 16, 1925, in Johnstown, daughter of Fred A. Sr. and Minnie M. (Reighard) Agey. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Rev. Richard D. Gillin; three infant grandchildren; one infant great-grandson; brother, Fred Agey Jr.; and sister, Lorena Miller. Survived by her loving children, Cindy, wife of Robert Barclay, Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Marsha, wife of Charles Smith, Johnstown; Andrea, wife of Barry Thompson, Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Zane, married to the former Rose Alvarez, Goshen, Ind.; and Daria, wife of Frank Huber, Brick, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Gerry Agey, Johnstown; also numerous nieces and nephews. Willa Jean was a lifelong member of Conemaugh Church of the Brethren. She and her late husband, Richard, pastored many churches and were active in church organizations, including Western Pennsylvania Church of the Brethren Disaster Services. They participated in several projects in the United States helping areas that were hit by hurricanes, floods or tornadoes. Willa Jean enjoyed teaching in the Sunshine Club and children’s ministries. She will be remembered for her kind hospitality. Willa Jean welcomed people from many walks of life into her home. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First St., Conemaugh, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Conemaugh Church of the Brethren, the Rev. Horrace “Butch” Derr, officiating. Interment, Headrick Union Cemetery.
