Barbara Ann (Nagy) Spinks

CROCKETT, TEXAS — SPINKS – Mrs. Barbara Ann (Nagy), 69, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at East Texas Medical Center, Crockett, Texas, following a long illness. Born Aug. 24, 1943, in Johnstown, and had lived in Crockett since 1995. She had been a grants management specialist in genetic research for the National Institute of Health, General Medical Sciences, Bethesda Md., and later held a similiary position with the Department of the Interior in Denver, Colo., until her medical retirement in 1992. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, John L. Spinks Jr., Crockett; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Shaun Pavlik, Wills, Texas; Arnie Pavlik, Elkton, Md.; David and Sarah Pavlik, Brambleton, Va.; and Brian and Dani Pavlik, Denver, Colo; stepdaughters, Kelly Spinks, Studio City, Calif.; and Rebekah Spinks, Hermiston, Ore.; grandchildren, Daniel and Benjie Pavlik, Brambleton, Va.; Nic, Griffin and Wyatt Silver, Studio City, Calif.; and Annika and Eva Pavlik, Denver, Colo.; brother, Bill Nagy, and wife, Carol Nagy, Johnstown; niece, Carrie Marsh, Shingle Springs, Calif.; nephews, Bill Nagy, Johnstown; Ricky Nagy, Dauphin, Pa.; and Rob Nagy, Audubon, Pa.; and stepmother, Frances J. Nagy, Johnstown. Preceded in death by father and mother, William B. and Beatrice Nagy, Johnstown; and brother and sister, Dennis and Roberta Nagy. Visitation was held Oct. 11 at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home, Crockett, Texas.
