JOHNSTOWN — PEARCE – Belva L., 87, Johnstown, died July 13, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center.  She was born June 26, 1926, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Lester and Hilda M. (Ribblett) Dyer.  She also was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Harvey. Belva is survived by her loving husband of almost 62 years, John P. Pearce; son, Kevin P. Pearce; daughter, Denise L. Barnes, and husband, Reid T., both of Johnstown; grandchildren, Brandon Lokesak and Emily Pearce; and great-grandsons, Dominick and Mason Lokesak. Also survived by nephew, the Rev. Dr. John D. Harvey.  She worked as a clerk at Diamond Drugstore, and was a longtime member of Homestead Avenue United Methodist Church, where she had attended UB Fidelis Sunday school class.  Belva enjoyed reading and crocheting, having made lap robes for hospice, baby afghans for Birthright and hundreds of afghans for family and friends.  She also loved to cook and watch cooking shows, with one her favorites being “Chopped.” Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd., where service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
