JOHNSTOWN — ANTINORA – Mary L. (Omodio), 90, Johnstown, died Oct. 2, 2012, at Windber Hospice. Born Oct. 30, 1921, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Peter and Carmella Omodio. Preceded in death by husband, Anthony P. Antinora; sister, Frances Saccone; brothers, Leonard, Vince and Charlie Omodio; brother-in-law, Joe Antinoro; niece, Carmella Spadone; and nephew, Perry Omodio. Survived and will be sadly missed by son, Tony, and daughter-in-law, Karen Antinora, Johnstown; son, Rick, and daughter-in-law, Donna Antinora, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and grandchildren, Jeffrey Antinora, Johnstown; Michael, and wife, Tiffani Antinora, Colorado; T.J., and wife, Jill Antinora, Colorado; Stacy, and husband, Chuck Masin, Colorado; Amy, and husband, Greg Antl, Colorado. Also survived by brother, Pete, and wife, Lena Omodio, Johnstown; and sisters-in-law, Minnie Omodio, Johnstown; Ina Omodio, Nevada; Dorothy Pisarcik, Johnstown; and Jane Antinoro, New York. Mary also was the proud great-grandmother “G.G.” to Andy, Sophie, Luke, Lacy, Teresa, Ricky, Meredith, Gwendolyn, Victoria, Tanner, Parker, Netty, Devin, Benjamin, Joseph, Abigail, Wyatt and Austin. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Jim Saccone, Carol Lynn Sgroi, Dianna Fusano, Gary Omodio, Sheila Omodio, Charlene Deter, Cathy Omodio, Maryann Evanchick, Skip Alaimo, Gary Antinoro and Mary Jo Aldrich, and their families. Mary also will be sadly missed by longtime friend, Josephine Workosky; and special friend, Lynette Lopresti. Mary was a talented seamstress. In her early years, she worked as a sample maker at Kay-Artley dress factory. Later, Mary was admired for the beautiful custom draperies she made for many homes throughout the Johnstown area. Mary was an avid bridge player and participated in many clubs and tournaments in the area. Mary had a smile and kind word for everyone she met and she will always be affectionately remembered. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd., where vigil will be held at 3:30 p.m. Mary was a devout Catholic and 60-year member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church, Tioga Street, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, the Very Rev. Mark S. Begly. Entombment will follow at Grandview Mausoleum. Special thanks to Mary’s caregiver, Tammy and the staff at Memorial Medical Center’s Palliative Care Unit and Windber Hospice. Their kind, gentle and competent care was deeply appreciated by her family.
