James P. McGinnis

INDIANA, PA. — McGINNIS – James P., 60, Indiana, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013, at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh. Born April 25, 1953, in Eugene, Ore., son of James L. and Mary Kay Murray McGinnis. Mr. McGinnis was a graduate of Indiana High School, where he ran cross country and was the well-recognized mascot of the high school, the “Chief.” Jim also was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was an operations manager with E.P. Global Communications and a member of St. Bernard Clairvaux Catholic Church. Jim was a loyal NASCAR fan, along with his best friend, Dennis, and he enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family and friends. Survived by wife of 37 years, Sharon Killian McGinnis, Indiana; daughters, Erin L. Wilson, and husband, Shelby, Creekside; and Shannon McGinnis, and fiance, Don Rowe Jr., Coral; brother, Daniel McGinnis, and wife, Michelle, Harrisburg; sisters, Kathy Detwiler, and husband, Robert, Worthington; and Teresa Kensey, and husband, Dave, Indiana; beloved granddaughters, who were the love of his life, Anna and Emma Wilson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by father, James L. McGinnis; and brother, Michael J. McGinnis. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Robinson-Lytle Inc., Indiana. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, Father Thomas Federline, celebrant. Interment, St. Bernard Cemetery Mausoleum. (
