BOLIVAR — KROMPHOLTZ – Ruth A. “Granny” Riffle, 87, Bolivar and Ligonier, died early Monday morning, March 4, 2013, at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born May 30, 1925, in Bolivar, daughter of the late Frank and Jennie Elizabeth Muir Henderson. Ruth was a member of Bolivar First Church of Christ. Her family was always her greatest treasure. Ruth will be remembered as compassionate, loving and with a smile that could light up a room. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by first husband, Richard Riffle, in 1965; second husband, Howard L. Krompholtz, in 2010; sisters, Jean Neiport, Adda Fulcomer and Nettie Henderson; and brothers, Ernest, Willis and Arthur Henderson. Survived by daughters, Sandra G. Marino, New Florence; and Barbara (Robert) Wallace, Ligonier; grandchildren, Lisa Holupka, Richard Marino, Heather Olsen and David Williams; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Chad, Benjamin, Monika and Trevor; and sisters, Jennie Hodell and June McKinney, both of Indiana; and Ethel Silk, Bolivar. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at J. Paul McCracken Funeral Chapel Inc., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier, where Ruth’s life will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Evangelist Chris H. Hopper, officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Palmer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Ruth’s memory to Bolivar First Church of Christ.
