JOHNSTOWN — BARCZAK – Sue, 92, Johnstown, died Nov. 12, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 3, 1921, in Homer City, daughter of Michael and Zuzanna (Gera) Oleksa. Preceded in death by her parents; son, Leon Barczak; daughter, Ann Marie Barczak; brothers, John, Michael and Paul Oleksa; and sister, Mary (Oleksa) Sokach. Survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Leo E. Barczak; children, Barbara, wife of Stephen Novatny; Robert, married to the former Kathy Klimeck; and Carol, wife of Ronald Golias, all of Johnstown; and Donald, married to the former Linda Keeney, Tempe, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Sister of Ann (Oleksa) Zapotechne, Conemaugh; Steve (Helen) Oleksa, Johnstown; George (Kitty) Oleksa, Johnstown; Irene (Oleksa) Harr, Johnstown; and Rudy (Carol) Oleksa, Columbia, Pa. Also survived by sister-in-law, Miriam (Gallagher) Oleksa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to bake for her family and will be remembered for her pies and homemade bread. She was a member of the former St. Casimir Catholic Church and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Franciscan Friars, OFM, Conv. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., 710 Broad St., where vigil for the deceased will be held. Committal, St. Casimir’s Cemetery.
