Andy Kotrick

INTERCOURSE, PA. — KOTRICK – Andy, 73, Intercourse, Pa., entered into the loving arms of our heavenly Father Wednesday, April 2, 2014.  Born in Bakerton, Pa., son of the late Alexander and Mary (Konitsky) Kotrick. He was the loving husband of Patricia Ann (Bailey) Kotrick for more than 52 years. Survived by daughters, Michele Lynn Frant, wife of Michael, and their daughter, Kyra Michele, Lansdale, Pa.; and Melissa Ann Cunningham, wife of Eric, and their son, Bradley Alexander, and daughter, Bailey Elizabeth, Fredericksburg, Va. Also surviving are his brothers, George, husband of Patty, Elmora, Pa.; Wasco, husband of Irene, Warner Robbins, Ga.; Alex Jr., husband of Louise, Northern Cambria; and John, husband of Kathy of Millersville, Pa. Survived by sister-in-law, Donna Davis, Clemmons, N.C.; brother-in-law, Joseph Bailey, husband of Cheryl, Fraser, Mich.; sister-in-law, Shirley Kotrick, Heilwood, Pa.; and his many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by brother, Frank Kotrick; and brother-in-law, John Davis. Andy was a hard-working and dedicated man. He loved his family, friends and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis era. He worked for almost 20 years at Barnes & Tucker Lancashire Coal Co. in Carrolltown, and also worked for 28 years at Lancaster County Prison as a maintenance mechanic until his death. Andy was a lifelong member of American Legion Post 508 of Northern Cambria and Veterans of Foreign Wars member-at-large. Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 6, with a Christian prayer service at 8:30 p.m. at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, Pa. 17602, where additional viewing will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, April 7. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, Pa. 17602, the Rev. Daniel Mitzel, celebrant. Interment,. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, Pa. Special thanks and appreciation to the staff of hospice.
