LILLY — BUTCH – Mary Jo (Martynuska), 59, Lilly, went home April 9, 2014, surrounded by her loved ones. Preceded in death by parents, Valentine and Phyllis (Albarano) Martynuska; mother-in- law, Mary (McCloskey) Butch; and father-in-law, Curtis Butch; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Survived by her loving husband, Donald; children, Jude, and wife, Kelly, Buffalo, N.Y.; Victoria Butch and Zack Smith, Bellefonte; and Katelyn Butch and Kyle Gifford, New York, N.Y.; and proud nana to Lily Ray Butch. Also survived by adoring and faithful sisters, Helen (Martynuska) and Curtis Glynn, Millers, N.C.; and Consiglia Martynuska, Lilly; sisters-in-law, Elaine and Joseph Plewa, Harrisburg; and Catherine and Lawrence Sprouse, Altoona; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and students. Mary Jo loved life, her friends and family, sports, the Pirates and Steelers, reading, bowling, her community, Bishop Carroll High School, her dogs, crossword puzzles, and her sister, Consiglia’s, sauce. She was an incredible sister; loving wife; proud mother, nana and aunt; loyal friend; and dedicated educator, having spent 33 years touching the lives of thousands of young people at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in Ebensburg, where she could be found playing pickleball or basketball in the gym. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Family and friends may pay their respects from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 12, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at Thomas F. Cloherty Funeral Home, 531 Main St., Lilly, Pa. 15938, where vigil for the deceased will be held Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church, 608 Main St., Lilly, concelebrated by Father David Bonnarigo, TOR, Father Brian Warchola and Deacon Sam Albarano.
