Deovaux Holdsworth Jr.

HOMER CITY — HOLDSWORTH – Deovaux “Joe” Jr., 75, Homer City, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was the son of the late Deovaux Sr. and Eleanor Morosky Holdsworth. He was born May 6, 1938, in Nanty Glo. Mr. Holdsworth proudly served and was retired from the U.S. Air Force. Joe also worked at Greenwich Collieries, Godfather’s Pizza and Burger King.  He attended Barkley Wesleyan Methodist Church in Homer City. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bertha Cameron Holdsworth, Homer City; three daughters, Teresa Smith, Whitehall; Catherine Overdorff, and husband, Ron, Homer City; and Stephanie Wright, and husband, Mark, Saucier, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson-Lytle Inc., Indiana. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Barkley Wesleyan Methodist Church, Homer City, Pastor Rick Markel, officiating.  Interment will be in McDowell Cemetery. (
