ALUM BANK — FOLK – James H., 81, Quaker Valley Road, Alum Bank, died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at home surrounded by his family. He was born Oct. 1, 1932, in Berlin, son of the late Ullyses G. and Minnie (Shaffer) Folk. On March 31, 1962, in Alum Bank, he married Jeanne Mock, who survives along with the following family: daughter, Mary, wife of Donald Rowzer; son, Jim Folk, married to former Nancy George, both of Alum Bank; grandchildren, Mindy, wife of Graham Shadle; Sara Rowzer Pincin, formerly married to Dan Pincin; Jessie, wife of Kyle Hess; and Emily Folk; three great-grandchildren, Landyn, Jaelyn and Madison; a great-grandchild due to arrive in October; sister, Evelyn Espey, Melbourne, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ken, Don and Bob Folk, and a sister, Loretta Esken. Jim was a member of Liberty Bible Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, and then retired with Standard Register after 27 years. He was dearly loved by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and by all who knew him. The family would like to extend its sincere thanks to Windber Hospice for the wonderful care given to him and support for our family. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014, in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, Bedford, the Rev. Stewart McClelland, officiating. Burial at Mount Union Cemetery with full military rites conducted by Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday.
