His brothers, particularly Father Anthony Choby, persuaded him to pursue dentistry, which he did at the University of Pittsburgh. He graduated as a dentist in 1936. He joined the U.S. Navy and was a lieutenant commander during World War II. After this, he married and settled for many years in the house he designed and built in Westmont. He just recently became a resident, along with his wife, Helen, at Bethlen Homes in Ligonier. His many hobbies include hunting timber doodles (American woodcock) with his Brittany spaniels. He enjoyed the outdoors and has had many pleasant memories making nests for blue birds. Later, he developed his culinary skills making pies and cookies for many family members, but particularly for his wife, Helen. He will be missed.
