David C. Darocy Sr.

JOHNSTOWN — DAROCY – David C. Sr., 91, Johnstown, died Jan. 6, 2013, at his home. Born Jan. 5, 1922, in Johnstown, son of Joseph and Mary (Vida) Darocy. Preceded in death by parents and siblings. He was the last survivor of his immediate family.  Survived by loving children, Ramona J. Darocy, Markleton; David C. Darocy Jr., Johnstown; Linda D., married to Andrew Pudliner, New Florence; Nadine A., married to Louis Gelormino, Butler; and Lisa G. Boyd, Belsano Also survived by grandchildren, Andrew Pudliner, Kimberly Lavis, Douglas Boyd and Craig Mattimore; great-grandchildren, Parker and Lauren Lavis and Jaxon Boyd; and numerous nieces and nephews. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor serving on the USS Whale. Retired coal miner for Bethlehem Steel Corp. Mines. A longtime member of Johnstown American Legion Post 0294 and the Tremont Trap and Field Club. Also a member of the Hungarian Reform Church in Cambria City. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street, where funeral service will be held at  11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Albert Kovacs.
