UPPER YODER TOWNSHIP — DUNCAN – Alice M., 95, Upper Yoder Township, died Jan. 8, 2013, at Allegheny Lutheran Home of Johnstown. Born March 3, 1917, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Nelson B. Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth (Smith) Brode. Also preceded in death by husband, Ira M.; sisters, Ethel, Edith and Bertha; brother, Nelson; son-in-law, W. Allen Intihar; daughter-in-law, Joanne Duncan; grandchildren, David Intihar and Russell Duncan; and very special friend, John Fesko. Alice was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by children, Roberta L., wife of Carl Zipfel, Lagrange, Ohio; Janet L. Duncan, Allentown; Marjorie J., wife of Raymond Gilmore, Cover Hill; James R., husband of Doris, Sidman; and John R., Bowmansville. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Alice was employed by the former F.W. Woolworth Co., Westwood Plaza. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Robert Abarno, officiating. Friends received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. Interment, Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Allegheny Lutheran Home of Johnstown, 807 Goucher St., Johnstown, Pa. 15905, or Home Nursing Agency, Hospice, 201 Chestnut Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16601, in Alice’s memory.
