Doris A. Hufman

JOHNSTOWN — HUFMAN – Doris A. “Do,” 89, formerly of Riverside, passed peacefully Jan. 12, 2013, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born April 7, 1923, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Ralph W. and Martha M. (Hill) Waring. Preceded in death by husband, John Hufman; sons, Robert and William Hufman; sister, Nancy Hesaltine; and brother, Richard Waring. Survived by daughter, Patricia Hufman, Johnstown; daughter-in-law, Karen Hufman, Somerset; grandchildren, Erin Beetsch, and husband, Joel, Long Valley, N.J., and David Hufman and Jonathan Hufman, both of Missoula, Mont.; great-grandchildren, Josie Hufman and Jack Hufman, both of Missoula, Mont., and Ella Beetsch, Long Valley, N.J.; sister, Janet Stevens, Bridgewater, Va.; brother, Bob Waring, and wife, Betty, Somerset; brother-in-law, Bob Hesaltine, South Bethany, Del; and many nieces and nephews. Member of the former Riverside Grace Brethren Church, and was a member of the Riverside Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was a 1941 graduate of Ferndale High School and a graduate of Cambria-Rowe Business School. She had worked for Bob Baron’s Market and Greenhouses. She was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. She loved family, friends, cooking, baking and candy making. Friends received from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at 3 p.m. Tuesday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., Pastor James Cameron, officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Arbutus Park Manor or to Somerset Alliance Church Building Fund.
