WINDBER — HMAY – Joan (Ostrosky), 88, Windber, passed away Jan. 25, 2013, at Church of The Brethren Home, Windber.  Born Sept. 6, 1924, in Mine 37, daughter of Frank and Julia (Kush) Ostrosky. Being baptized Juliana. Preceded in death by parents; beloved husband, Adolph “Rudy” Hmay, who passed away Dec. 29, 2012; brothers, Stephen, John, Mike, George, and most recently, Nick Ostrosky, who passed away Sept. 3, 2011, at the age of 84; sisters, Mary, Ann, Rose, and most recently, Kathryn, who passed away June 22, 2011, at the age of 98; precious niece and godchild, Phyllis Vasilisian; precious niece, Sonya Sherbiak; and nephews, Albert Ostrosky, Ronald Shark and Frank Balogh. Survived by brother, Robert Ostrosky, and his wife, Jane (Winslow). Also survived by four generations of nieces and nephews and their offspring, and loving godchildren, Barbara Montana, Jim Lively, Joyce (Lively) Kardone and Jim, Joe and Nick Ostrosky. Joan was a 40+ year employee of the federal government having spent most of her career with the Social Security Administration. She retired as supervisor at the Black Lung office in Johnstown in 1983.  Currently a member of NARFE and previously served over 15 years as treasurer of the local Johnstown office.  Member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber.  At the request of the deceased, there will not be any viewing or visitation, however, family and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber, the Very Rev. Leonard E. Voytek, VF. Interment, St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Windber.  On behalf of the family, we wish to thank Dr. Csikos for all of his kindness and care that he had shown to Joan throughout her life. We also wish to thank the Windber Hospice and the staff and nurses of Church of the Brethren Home, Windber.  Arrangements by William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber.
