ANDERSON - James Ralph, 93, passed away to be with our Lord June 3, 2006, at the Church of the Brethren Home, Windber. Born March 23, 1913, in Confluence, Pa. Preceded in death by wife, Virginia Ruth (Firestone) Anderson; parents, Enos Scott and Susan Hannah (Nickelson) Anderson; brothers, Adam, Albert, John, Joseph and Charles; also son-in-law, Thomas Suhr. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by living daughters, Barbara Durst, married to Donald Durst, Windber; Karen Suhr, Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, James D. Durst, and wife, Leslie, Carmel, Ind.; Jeri Linn (Durst) Gallucci, and husband, Frank, Camp Hill, Pa.; J. W. Durst, and wife, Rita, Madisonville, Ky.; Jason M. Durst, and wife, Diane, Burkburnett, Texas; and Heather K Suhr, Pensacola, Fla.; great-grandchildren, J.D. and Gretchen Durst; Aubree, Nicole and Frank Gallucci; Courtney and Nathan Durst; and Jordan Durst; great-great-granddaughter, Madison Durst. Worked for A--P and ACME market, where he retired April 1, 1975. Member of the VFW Confluence, American Legion, Fire Company and the Lions Club of Windber. World War II Navy veteran, serving in the South Pacific. A memorial service will be held June 20, 2006, at the First Lutheran Church of Windber at 2 p.m., the Rev Elenore Abarno officiating. CHILCOTT - Doris Irene, 85, of Third Street, Nanty Glo, died June 4, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Nov. 8, 1920, in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late James and Mary (MacBlane) Kenniburg. Preceded in death by husbands, William Harvey Seese and Robert E. Chilcott; daughter, Mary Ellen Matthews; infant twin daughters; twin sister, Dorothy Wood; sisters, Gladys Johnson, Lorene Lindbloom and Lillian Rhodes; and brothers, Sheldon, Jack and Lawrence Kenniburg. Survive by children, William Seese, and wife, Marina, Corpus Christi, Texas; Robert Chilcott, and wife, Kathryn Clouser, Nanty Glo; and Sharon, married to Jim Dorton, Glen Allen, Va. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Sister of James Kenniburg, New York, and Dorine Banfield, Nanty Glo. Retired in 1982 as a dietitian for Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. She had attended the Nanty Glo Christian -- Missionary Alliance Church and Nanty Glo Church of the Nazarene. She loved to cook and enjoyed her grandchildren. Preceded in death by father, Robert S. Miller Sr., and stepfather, Lester E. Mayes. Survived by mother, June Miller-Mayes, South Fork; brother, Robert S. Miller Jr., married to Anita Sikora, South Fork; sister, Bobbi Jean, wife of John Knepper, South Fork; nephews, Zachary Miller, Christopher Sikora and David Sikora; great-nieces, Chelsea and Adysin; and special friend, Scott Blough and family. Bill graduated from Johnstown Vo-Tech, Class of 1990. He was a member of Slovak-American Citizens Club, Dunlo, and a social member of the Beaverdale American Legion. SCHELLHAMMER - William L. Sr., 87, of Richland, died June 3, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center, Main Campus. Born March 13, 1919, in Johnstown, son of Richard and Crecense (Sarlouis) Schellhammer. Preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Betty (Huss) Schellhammer; brothers, Vincent, Charles, Richard, Louis, Peter, John, Francis and Victor; sisters, Anna Neisner, Catherine Betz and Cresence Mackel. He is survived by sons, Barry, Richland, and William Jr., married to the former Colleen Walker, Benshoff Hill; grandchildren, Brandi, wife of Rick Mostoller, and Jessica Schellhammer, and fiance, Joseph Delozier; and great-grandson, Evan Delozier. Bill was a member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral and past member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church. A World War II Army veteran, he retired from Bethlehem Steel as a high lift operator. A lifetime member of Menoher Post #155 VFW. SHAFFER - Elizabeth Mae "Lizzie," 83, of Hollsopple, went to be with her husband and Lord June 3, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 15, 1923, in Hollsopple, daughter of Berton Gerald and Sadie (Pugh) Lambert. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Berton Gerald; and husband, Percy J. Shaffer. Survived by these children: Bonnie, wife of the Rev. Larry Stewart, Meyersdale; Berton, married to the former Susan Skiles, Davidsville; Grant "Tiny," married to the former Carol Spicher, Ogletown; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Sister of Goldie Nichols, Minnie Hoffman and Grant Lewis "Lew" Lambert and the Rev. Richard Lambert, all of Hollsopple. She was a member of the Hollsopple Apostolic Gospel Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She retired from J.C. -- Me Sewing Factory, Pretoria and Hollsopple. She was a former president of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She was a charter member of the Connumach Lioness Club, where she served on the board of directors. She was a volunteer for St. Francis Caring -- Sharing for six years. She lovingly cared for Aaron and Glenna Putyrski as if they were her own grandchildren. Family receiving friends from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Donald Zeek and the Rev. Larry Stewart. Also preceded in death by husband, Harry A. Weigel Sr. in 1985; son, Ronald Lynn; and siblings, Henry and William Young; Katherine Blough; and Ann Mildred Christensen. Survived by children, Suzanne, wife of Dr. George Ashman, Johnstown; Martha, wife of John Mowery, Cedar Park, Texas; Barbara, wife of Robert McClintock, Columbus, Ohio; Harry Weigel Jr., Johnstown; Vivian, wife of Thomas Loring, Franktown, Va.; and David Weigel, and wife, Emma Gibbons, New Florence; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Medeiros, Johnstown; Martha Young, New Florence; and Martha Louise Otto, Long Island, N.Y.
