CERNANSKY - John, 80, Conemaugh, Pa., died Aug. 12, 2006, at Windber Hospital. Born July 19, 1926, in Johnstown, son of Michael and Mary (Makuchan) Cernansky. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Janet Bloom. Survived by wife, the former Vivian Kralik, and these children: James E. Cernansky, North Carolina; Carol A. Cernansky, Colorado; Lawrence M., married to the former Remedio Mellon, Johnstown; Donald J. Cernansky, Virginia; John P., married to the former Wendy J. Wingard, Salix; and Mary Ann, wife of Brent Lewis, Washington, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A brother of Robert Cernansky, Johnstown. Also survived by uncles, Paul Cernansky, Florida, and Peter Cernansky, Baden, Pa. Retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Johnstown. Korean War veteran, having served with the 24th Infantry Division. A member of Post 155 VFW and St. Stephen Catholic Church. Friends received from 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Francis G. NOVOTNY - Mildred C., 88, of Portage, died Aug. 13, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 2, 1918, in Cassandra, daughter of Joseph Sr. and Anna (Spinner) Novotny. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Anna Koehler, Mary Hagan and Julia Mocadlo; and brothers, Charles, Joseph, John, Albert and Stephen. Survived by niece, Elizabeth "Betty," and husband, Joseph Mandichak; great-niece and nephew, JoBeth and Michael; great-great-niece and nephew, Corey and Lauren; also nieces, Gerri Lynn, and husband, Hezekiah Phillips, and Linda, and husband, Tony Mastaler Jr.; great-niece and nephew, Jocelyn, Jude and Jason Mastaler; nieces, Maryann Zakrzwski and Louise Talko; longtime friend, Ann Fetchkan; and many other special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly. She was the last surviving member of the Novotny family. Worked at several shoe and clothing factories in the Portage area and organized the first ladies garment union in the area. OGILVIE - Jean G. (Moyer), 78, of Boswell (Boswoods), formerly of Bedford and Cumberland, Md., died Aug. 12, 2006, at Somerset Hospital. Born Aug. 23, 1927, in Colton, W.Va., daughter of William J. and Sidna Ann (Kyle) Moyer. Preceded in death by parents; husband, David M., Jan. 15, 1990; grandson, James Ogilvie; and numerous sisters and brothers. Survived by sons, David W., Cumberland, Md.; Roger M., married to Kathleen Cray, Huntington Beach, Calif.; and James M., at home; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, William, Cumberland, Md.; and pet cat, "Goozy Baz." Former deacon at the Bedford Presbyterian Church and past member of the Bedford Lioness Club. Member of the auxiliaries to the Boswell Volunteer Fire Department and the Boswell American Legion. He just returned from a fishing trip to Canada with his sons, brothers and cousins. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Preceded in death by first wife, Rose (Weimer) Yahnert; second wife, Mary (Wentz) Yahnert; and 12 brothers and sisters. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving children, Donald Yahnert Jr., and wife, Leona; Daniel Yahnert, and wife, Chris; Robert Yahnert, and wife, Crystal; Cindy Wagner; Sandy Evans, and husband, William; Duane Wentz, and wife, Rhonda; Dave Wentz; Billy Wentz; Sue, and husband, Jack; and Mary Jo Lowmaster, and husband, Tim; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; friend and companion, Marion Evans.
