BEISWENGER - Lawrence W., 86, of Altoona, died Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 6, 2006, at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. Born March 20, 1920, in Ashville R.D., son of the late Joseph and Ella (Sharp) Beiswenger. He married Irene A. Montler on Sept. 5, 1953, in Frugality, Pa. She preceded him in death on June 27, 1997. Also preceded in death by sister, Marie Madigan, and brothers, Clair, Francis, Leo, Richard and George. Survived by son, Robert (Lisa) Beiswenger, and John (Michele), all of Altoona; brother, Robert of Corning, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. Member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Worked at PRR Railroad until 1958 then at Lumax as a die maker. He retired in 1984. He was an Army veteran during World War II, serving as a Tech 5. Mr. Beiswenger loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. A member of Catholic War Veterans. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Stanley J. BOCK - Vernon L., 66, of Brenizer, Pa., died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at his home. Born Jan. 10, 1940, in Johnstown, son of Walter and Lucy (Russo) Bock. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife, Marlene (Williams) Bock of Blairsville; sons, Vernon L. He served in the U.S. Marines and was a member of the VFW Post 5821. Retired from Torrance State Hospital. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 7, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Blairsville, where funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m. VFW Post 5821 and the American Legion will conduct military services Friday morning in the funeral home. LUEBBE - the Rev. Paul Frank, 79, of 344 Briar Lane, Chambersburg, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, in Chambersburg, Pa. Born Aug. 19, 1927, in Johnstown, Pa., he was a son of the late Frank and Louise (Jena) Luebbe. He graduated from Gettysburg College, the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg and The Johns Hopkins University. An ordained Lutheran pastor for 55 years, Paul served congregations in Latrobe, Baltimore, Zelienople, Chambersburg, Gallitzin and Summerhill. In 1985, he created and directed the Medical Adult Day Care Center at Keswick Nursing Home, Baltimore, until retirement. A member of many church boards and agencies, he was also a board member of the Lutheran Historical Society and a Hospice volunteer. Paul is survived by his wife, Barbara (Schoenrock) Luebbe; five children: Gretchen Luebbe of Leesburg, Va.; Paul Jr., and wife, Zemen Luebbe, of Chantilly, Va.; Lisa Stapleford, and husband, Thomas, of Lemasters, Pa.; Christopher Luebbe of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and Jennifer Keller, and husband, Timothy, of Philadelphia, Pa.; and seven grandchildren. Paul is also survived by a sister, Margaret Butler of Baltimore, Md., and a brother, Robert of Warminster, Pa. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Lutheran Theological Seminary, 61 Seminary Ridge, Gettysburg, Pa. Born March 18, 1945, in Johnstown, son of the late Charles and Isbell (Wojtowicz) Tackett. Preceded in death by grandparents, Andrew and Stella "Baba" Wojtowicz. Survived by sons, Damien Tackett, and wife, Jaclyn, and Joseph Tackett; grandchildren, Tyler, Joshua, David and Zackary; and sister, Caroline Connelly, and husband, John. Chuck was a devout Roman Catholic. Those who knew him would remember him as a man with great potential, who had the heart of a poet.
