DAVITCH - Alleene L. (May), 82, Jerome, died Jan. 18, 2007, at her home. Born Feb. 21, 1924, in Boswell, daughter of Harper and Edythe (Adams) May. Preceded in death by parents; husband, George R. Davitch Sr., on Sept. 24, 1999; grandson, Robert A. Bracken, on July 25, 2003; brother, Harry May; and brother-in-law, Eugene Roadman. Survived by daughter, Bonnie, married to William "Tuck" Bracken, Jerome; son, George "Bob" Davitch Jr., Jerome; grandchildren, Lisa Gowarty, and fiance, Chad Maurer, Jerome, and Melissa and Frederick; great-grandchildren, Kristen and Andrew Gowarty and Darien; brothers, Reed May, and wife, Josie, Johnstown, and Paul May, and wife, Norma, Minerva, Ohio; sister, Charmaine Roadman, New Bern, N.C.; sister-in-law, Evelyn May, Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a seamstress for the former Nancy Carol Garment Factory and the former Dorfman -- Hoffman Garment Factory, both of Boswell, and Bestform, Windber. Member of ILGWU and Jerome Church of the Nazarene, where she was a Sunday school teacher and secretary, and president of the local Nazarene Missions International. Volunteer for St. Francis Sharing -- Caring, Hollsopple. Enjoyed gardening and doing yard work. She loved all the angels who took care of her. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home -- Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. HAJZUS - Andrew Thomas, 91, Ebensburg, died Jan. 19, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Nov. 10, 1915, in Windber, son of Thomas and Anna (Olsavasky) Hajzus. Preceded in death by parents, and these brothers and sisters: Paul, Raymond, Susan Hajzus, Mary Lechak and Ann Peduzzi. Survived by wife, the former Evelyn Shevock; these daughters: Eileen, wife of Alan Ritko, Ohio, and Andrea, wife of Gary Gelormino, Johnstown; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Brother of Margaret Skibo, Ebensburg; Cecila Oborsky, Johnstown; John Hajzus, Colver; and Frances Baur, Sugar Grove. Retired from Eastern Gas -- Fuel Coal Company, Colver. Member of UMWA Local 860, Colver. Member of K of C Council 522, Ebensburg, and Prince Gallitzin Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. HAWKE - Jane Elizabeth "Betty," 86, Arbutus Park Manor, formerly of Hollsopple, died Jan. 17, 2007, at Windber Medical Center. Born April 29, 1920, in Benson Borough, daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Edminston) Trevorrow. Preceded in death by parents; husband, William Robert Hawke; sisters, Mary, Hazel, Alice and Esther; and brother, Tom. Survived by sisters, Charlotte Wisor, Nancy Smail and Helen Kendig. Also survived by nieces and nephews. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Hollsopple, where she was involved with many activities including Missions, United Methodist Women, nursery teacher and children's director and member of the Happy Hour Sunday School class. She was a member of Anna L. Windolph, Chapter 495, for 53 years and Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a Past Matron in 1962. She was a proud member of Arbutus Park Manor and Arbutus Park Manor Auxiliary. She was a charter member of Conemaugh Township Historical Society. A 1938 graduate of Johnstown High School and a 1946 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania. She retired in 1980 with 39 years as a school teacher for Conemaugh Township Schools including 12 years with the Benson Borough School. She was a lifetime member of Pennsylvania State and Somerset County Retired Public School Employees Association. Family receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at George E. Preceded in death by parents, and brother, Michael Kane. Survived by husband, John B. Kohan; and these children: Kimberly Ann, Christine Marie and John David; and grandchildren, Chad Thomas, Alexandra, Collin and Tracen Strauch. Sister of Stephen Kane and Bradley Kane. Also survived by best friends, Kay and James Clark, Lynn Michaels and Roni Kane. Patricia was a member of Morrellville Church of the Brethren. Funeral service was held at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at 11 a.m., the Rev. John Manges. Interment, Benshoff Hill Cemetery. Patricia will be missed dearly by all. PODOLAK - Christina, 85, Johnstown, died Jan. 18, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Sept. 27, 1921, in Johnstown, daughter of Peter and Catherine (Saldy) Goisovich. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Matt, Alex and George; and sisters, Emma and Helen. Survived by loving husband, Charles N. Podolak Jr.; children, Charles E. Podolak, married to the former Sylvia Claycomb, Maryland, and Andrew G. Podolak, Virginia; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Steven Goisovich, Johnstown, and sisters, Millie Podolak, New Jersey, and Olga Snyder, Florida. Christina and Charles were married on April 11, 1938, celebrating 68 years of marriage. She was an active member of SS. Peter -- Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Parastas will be sung at SS.
