BASILE - Dominic A.

BASILE - Dominic A. "Brazz," 88, Northern Cambria, died July 16, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown. Born Sept. 25, 1918, in Barnesboro, son of Anthony and Anna (Certo) Basile. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Vivian (Taranto) Basile, who died Oct. 28, 1996; brothers, Frank and Tony Basile; and sisters, Ann, Nina and Mary Basile and Grace Pandolf. World War II Army veteran, 127th Infantry anti-tank company. Member of American Legion Post 508, Barnesboro. Retired concrete contractor with R.H. Flathman Inc., Laurel, Md. Former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Northern Cambria. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria, where rosary service will be held at 3 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Prince of Peace Chapel. Committal, St. Patrick Cemetery, Northern Cambria. Military honors by local veterans' organizations.



BERKEBILE - Irene Z.

BERKEBILE - Irene Z., 95, Windber, beloved mother, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away at the Tremont House, Houston, Texas, on June 14, 2007, with her daughter, Colleen, at her side. Irene was preceded in death by husband, Emory V. Berkebile; daughter, Zoe Ann Koehler; and six brothers. Irene will be missed by daughter, Colleen, and husband, Don DeTata, Houston, Texas; son-in-law, George Koehler, Windber; sister, Betty Zembower, Anaheim, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Virginia Geiser and Laverne Berkebile, both of Windber, and Lucille Geiser, Catonsville, Md.; grandchildren, Kim, and husband, Larry Dugan, Yorktown, Va.; Todd Koehler, and wife, Dr. Tamara Hoffman, Windber; Beth Koehler, Pittsburgh; and Lt. Col. David DeTata, and wife, Jaew, U.S. Army in South Korea; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Cassidy, Windber; and nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held July 21, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Koehler farm, followed by a grave site service at Berkey Church Cemetery. There will be a fellowship and food for family and friends on the Koehler farm starting at 1 p.m. The family of Irene thank you in advance for your condolences.
