BAKER - Grace K.

BAKER - Grace K., 92, of Ebensburg, formerly of Hastings and Warren, Ohio, died July 24, 2007, at Laurel Crest Manor. Born Oct. 23, 1914, in Mahaffey, daughter of the late Julius and Stella (Hoover) McMurray. Preceded in death by husband, William; daughter, Bonnie, and husband, Louis; sister, Doris Long; and brother, Jack McMurray. Survived by son, William II, and wife, Amy, of Ashland, Ohio, and grandsons, Robert, Todd and Christopher Shurilla. Friends received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Easly Funeral Home, Hastings, the Rev. E. Robert Nagy. Interment, Union Cemetery, Hastings. BATRUS - Joseph

BATRUS - Joseph, 80, died July 24, 2007, at Laurel Crest Manor. Born April 12, 1927, in Altoona, son of Joseph and Alexandra (Salem) Batrus. Preceded in death by parents; twin brother, Thomas; and brothers, Robert and Albert Batrus. Survived by brothers, John of Austin, Texas; William, married to Theresa, San Bernardino, Calif.; Joel Batrus, New York; Dennis Batrus, Altoona; Donald, married to Kitty; and David, both of Johnstown; sisters, Marion Batrus, Pittsburgh, and Karen Batrus, Maryland; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services and interment are private and at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements by Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd.



BEECHAN - Rachel Elizabeth (Zindash)

BEECHAN - Rachel Elizabeth (Zindash), 86, Methuen, Mass., formerly of Windber, died July 21, 2007, in Massachusetts. Born April 17, 1921, in Windber, daughter of John Zindash and Mary (Onitza) Zindash-Lucas. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Samuel Beechan; son, Ronald Beechan, who died at age 4; brothers, John and George Zindash; and sisters, Florence Yorro and Mary Zindash. Survived by these children: sons, Samuel, and wife, Sandra (Yasko) Beechan; Joseph Beechan; and James Beechan, all of Windber; and daughters, Linda, wife of Peter Lacasse, Methuen, Mass., with whom Rachel resided, and Elizabeth, wife of Edward Preneta, Suffolk, Va.; grandchildren, James, Shannon and Kimberly Beechan; Peter Lacasse Jr., and Christopher Lacasse, and wife, Jennifer; and Michael and Kristie Preneta. Rachel also is survived by a niece that was very special to her, Brenda Kelly of Brooklyn, N.Y., and numerous other nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Windber. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, where Parastas service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday. Brief service at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by Funeral Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Windber, the Rev. Father Gregory Michalisin. Interment, church cemetery.
