ALLEN – Shannon F., 17, Fredericksburg, Va., native of Johnstown, died at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg. A complete obituary will appear in Tuesday’s paper.



CORNELL – Harry Alfonson Cornell

CORNELL – Harry Alfonson Cornell “Uncle Harry,” 93, of Windber, formerly of Hooversville, died Aug. 11, 2007, at Windber Medical Center. Born March 3, 1914, in Sunnyside, son of Robert and Josephine (Bosseti) Cornell. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Miriam Shaffer; and brothers, Robert and William. Survived by sister-in-law, Catherine Cornell; nieces, Christine Cornell (Jerry Hartsell), Vivian (Robert Lowrie), Janet (John) Sluka and Kathleen (Larry) VanderVelde; nephews, Robert (Kathy) Cornell, David (Susan) Cornell and William (Theresa) Lesso; great-nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Kristen, Heidi, Lindsey, Danielle, Derek, Bill, Joey, Kevin (Susan), Chris (Kathleen) and Stefan (Ivy); and great-great nieces, Brooke, Paige, Eve and Lucy. Wherever you are, we know, “The Sun is Shining.” Harry had a variety of jobs starting at age 12 and continuing through his retirement from Miller Electric, Somerset, in 1979. He was a man of many talents, including: Blacksmith, coal miner, knife sharpener, salesman and meat cutter, just to name a few. He was also a member of the Masonic Order. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. John Eash officiating. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery, Jerome. Memorial contributions may be given to Hooversville Church of the Brethren, Hooversville, Pa. 15936, or Church of the Brethren Home, 227 Hoffman Ave., Windber, Pa. 15963.



FELTON – John H. Jr.

FELTON – John H. Jr., 47, Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Armagh, died Aug. 12, 2007, at Kobacker House, Columbus, Ohio. Born Dec. 21, 1959, in Johnstown, the son of John H. Felton Sr., Dublin, Ohio and Viola (Kisamore) Felton, Armagh. Also survived by wife, Melanie (Slates) Felton, children, Michael Boring, Armagh; Teresa Bateman, and husband, Brandon, Derry; Crystal Goines, and husband, William and Nicole Felton, both from Columbus, Ohio; and grandchildren, Jessica and Ethan Boring; William, Katelynn and Alexandria Goines. Brother of Barbara Faraci, and husband, Jerome, Redondo Beach, Calif.; Mark Felton, Johnstown; Sueann Felton, Armagh; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, Armagh, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. John Hodge. Interment, Armagh Cemetery.
