GALLITZIN — KOS – Mary Elizabeth “Liz,” 81, Gallitzin, died July 12, 2013, at UPMC-Altoona. Born April 21, 1932, in Tunnelhill, daughter of the late William D. and Lillian (Long) Myers. Preceded in death by brothers, Peter and Daniel. Survived by her husband, Felix, whom she married Nov. 23, 1950, at St. Patrick Church; children, Richard (Lynn), Cresson; Debbie Kos, Gallitzin; Joseph (Bonnie), Ashville; Thomas, Gallitzin; Dianne Kos, Altoona; Michael (Diane), Gallitzin; Mary Lou (Dan) McConnell, Gallitzin; and Felix Jr., Altoona; 24 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren with one to be born this year. Sister of Kathleen (Phillip) Racicot, Collin, Texas; Thomas (Carol), Loretto; Joanne (Edgar) Link, Carrolltown; Eugene (Marilyn), Gallitzin; Denise (Alex) DeStafano, Ashville; Lou Ann (Kirby) Smith, Shingle Springs, Calif.; and Matt,  Erie. Also sisters-in-law, Beverly Myers, Gallitzin, and Cecelia Myers, Gallitzin, and numerous nieces and nephews. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, baking, cooking and caring for infants. She especially enjoyed her grand and great-grandchildren. Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Albert Ledoux, celebrant. Committal, Resurrection Mausoleum. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where a vigil service will be held Monday. The family suggests contributions to Gallitzin Area Ambulance Service, 110 Chestnut St., Gallitzin, Pa. 16641, in Mary Elizabeth’s memory.  (
