NANTY GLO — SANDERSON – Veronica “Sis,” 83, Nanty Glo, passed away Aug. 16, 2012, at Cambria Care Center, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 16, 1929, in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Stephen and Ruth (Davis) Kruper. Preceded in death by husband, Leo; great-granddaughter, Marissa; and brothers, Paul, James, Donald and Ken. Survived by children, Brett (Jennifer), Georgia; and Marcy (Paul) Rummel, Ebensburg; and grandchildren, Jaime (Ryan) Handley, Florida; Nathan (Paige) Cortese, Nanty Glo; Zachary Cortese, Nanty Glo; and Jeremy Rummel, Ebensburg. Sister of John (Leona) Kruper, Fords Corner; Marian (Jerry) McGlynn, Twin Rocks; Kathleen (Francis) Schilling, Belsano; and Ron Kruper, Twin Rocks. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Yvonne, Dolly, Janice and Linda; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Member of First Baptist Church of Nanty Glo and Nanty Glo Fire ladies auxiliary. Friend received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where fire ladies auxiliary memorial service will be held at 7 that evening. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, Deacon Thomas Buige, officiating. Interment to follow at United Brethren Cemetery, Belsano. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sis’s memory may be made to The American Cancer Society.
