Margaret E. (Kimmel) Rauch

LAUREL VIEW VILLAGE — RAUCH – Margaret E. (Kimmel), 86, Laurel View Village, Davidsville, formerly of Upper Yoder Township, died Feb. 20, 2013, at Laurel View Village. Born April 12, 1926, in Jenner Township, Somerset County, daughter of Harry and Bertha (Weaver) Kimmel. Preceded in death by parents and brothers, Daniel and Kenneth. Survived by husband of 63 years, Leonard I. Sr.; children, Leonard I. Jr., Johnstown; Connie J., married to Vincent J. Schneider, Upper Yoder; Robert L., and friend, Lenore Beck, Johnstown; and Linda, married to Chris Howard, Upper Yoder; grandchildren, Jason Rauch, and wife, Corinne, Ashburn, Va.; Gretchen Rauch, Johnstown; Courtney, married to Robert Smith, New Germany; Carey, married to Ryan Chiodo, Westmont; and James P.K. Bruce, Brownstown; great-grandchildren, Bradley and Wesley Smith and Damian and Dominic Chiodo; and brothers-in-law, John Rauch, and wife, Emma Lou, Davidsville; and Donald Rauch, and wife, Shirley, Alabama. A 1944 graduate of Johnstown High School. Member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Johnstown. A longtime volunteer for Memorial Medical Center. She also volunteered for Girl Scouts. Margaret was an excellent baker, especially of pies, and she also enjoyed quilting and sewing. Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Viewing also will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, the Rev. William Thwing, presiding. Interment, Beam Cemetery, near Gray.
