COLUMBIA, S.C. — LITZINGER – Garth Lorrell, 75, Columbia, S.C., died Nov. 29, 2013, after suffering a fatal stroke. Born July 25, 1930, in Johnstown, to Ralph B. and Ada (Reighard) Litzinger. Garth married Mary Mast, Arthur, Ill., on July 17, 1965. His 30-year career as senior designer with Square D Co. took them from Cleveland, Ohio, to Columbia, S.C., and Raleigh, N.C. He retired from the company on Dec. 31, 2000, and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Survived by his wife, Mary, Columbia, S.C.; son, Jim (Jerry Stevenson), Columbia, S.C.; daughter, Suzanne (Jeff) Rapp, Elgin, S.C.; grandchildren, James Tanner, Cole Mitchell and Connor Larell Rapp; brother, Donald James Litzinger, Johnstown; sister-in-law, Mary Lois (Shaffer) Litzinger, Johnstown; brother-in-law, Robert Zwick, Cleveland, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Gertrude Litzinger; brothers, William Dale and Wade Revere (Lois); sisters, Doris Elaine (William) Ochenrider, Zola June (Anthony) Corica and Aretta Darlene Zwick; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Goughnour) Litzinger. A drop-in visitation for the family will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at South Wing at Greenlawn Baptist Church, 6612 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, S.C. (enter through the courtyard).
