Betty Louise Lopez

JOHNSTOWN — LOPEZ – Betty Louise, 83, Johnstown, passed away Dec. 3, 2013, at Allegheny Lutheran Home, surrounded by her loving family. Born Jan. 31, 1930, in Johnstown, daughter of Anthony and Sarah (Burkett) DeMarco. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Theresa Spinda; and 12 siblings. She was the last survivor of her immediate family. Survived by loving husband of 64 years, Frank Lopez, Johnstown; daughters, Debbie Lopez, York; and Michele, married to Kevin Rager, Johnstown; son, Frank M. Lopez, married to Kathie (Hunter), Bel Air, Md.; and son-in-law, Ed Spinda, Johnstown. Also survived by her loving  grandchildren, Stephanie, and husband, Steve Zaragoza; Marybeth, and husband, Eron Stoykovich; Amanda, and husband, Kurt Orndorff; Andrew Rager; Travis Lopez; Robert Harvey, and wife, Rebecca; John Harvey; Frank Lopez Jr.; and Sammy Lopez; and great-grandchildren, Gabbie and Joshua Zaragoza, Tanner Stoykovich and Simon Orndorff. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Betty’s legendary Spanish rice and halushki will be passed down from generation to generation. A retired employee from the former Troy Laundry. Lifelong member of St. Therese Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Bernard Karmenocky, OFM. Committal, Grandview Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Massoud, Dr. Maharajh, the staff at Allegheny Lutheran Home and Interim Hospice Care, especially the caring angel, Brooke Walker, RN, who’s compassion and love was truly appreciated by our family. Friends received from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street.
