Ida Pearl Frazier

BEDFORD — FRAZIER – Mrs. Ida Pearl , 87, Colonial Courtyard, formerly of New Paris and Bedford, died at 8:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Colonial Courtyard. Born Monday, April 19, 1926,  in East St. Clair Township, daughter of the late Charles W. and Hazel P. (Bender) Claycomb. On Feb. 1, 1947, she married A.J. “Budd” Frazier. He preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1985. Survived by son, Lynn A., husband of  Linda Kay (Emerick) Frazier, Buffalo Mills; and daughters, Pamela M., wife of  Jeffrey Feather, Osterburg; and Lisa T., wife of  Gary Ickes, Osterburg. Also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by brother, Daniel Claycomb; and sisters, Esther Claycomb, Cleo Cuppett and Ruth Lehman. Ida Pearl was a 1946 graduate of Conemaugh Valley School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse at Bedford Hospital and also was a private duty nurse. She retired in 1988 from Donahoe Manor Nursing Home, where she was the head nursing supervisor. Ida Pearl also was a former tax collector for New Paris Borough. She was an active member and Sunday school teacher at New Paris United Methodist Church. Ida Pearl enjoyed playing the piano and played both at church and at home. She was the last member of her immediate family. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, the Rev. Ralph Landis, officiating. Interment, Schellsburg Cemetery. Friends were invited to call Thursday at the funeral home in Schellsburg. Online condolences may be expressed at www.geiselfuneral.com.
