Stella Ann (Francek) Sewalk

JOHNSTOWN — SEWALK – Stella Ann (Francek), 95, Johnstown, went to be with her Lord May 16, 2013, at home. Born June 9, 1917, in (Franklin) Johnstown, daughter of John and Mary (Mierzwa) Francek, of Krakow Poland. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Nora Greblowski, Anna Araujo and Mary Gurka; and stepbrothers, Joseph Krawczyk and John Krawczyk. Survived by brother, Stanley Krawczyk (Bon Air) Johnstown. Stella was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Survived by her devoted and loving husband, with whom she shared 75 years of marriage, Chester Henry Sewalk; and their children, Chester Robert, married to Mary Jane (Stager), Sidman; and Kathleen M. Sewalk, Menoher Heights, Johnstown. Survived by grandchildren, Chester J. Sewalk, married to the former Sarah (Elert); Stephen, married to Kerry (Dusack); and Theresa, married to Jason Hutzel; great-grandchildren, Josh, Jacob, Marlee Jane and Olivia Sewalk; and Dalton and Madison Hutzel; and stepgreat-grandson, Travis; also loving niece, Barbara Sanchez, Winter Park, Fla. Stella was a devout member of the former Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Conemaugh and most recently St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Geistown. She had served as president of Geistown-Richland Democratic Women’s Club. By request, there will be no public viewing. Friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Father David Peles, celebrant. Committal, St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Family suggests Mass intentions be made to Franciscan Monastery, Hollidaysburg, in memory of Stella A. Sewalk. Arrangements by Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills, 2503 Bedford St.
