Mary Louise Winalski

RICHMOND, VA. — WINALSKI– Mary Louise “Marlu,” 85, died peacefully  Oct. 23, 2012. As in life, she was surrounded by her loving friends at the time of her passing. Preceded in death by husband, Bob Winalski; mother, Catherine Yuhas; and uncle, John Yuhas. Born and raised in Johnstown, and had been a resident of Richmond, Va., for more than 40 years. Marlu retired from Hamlet Homeowners Condominium Association, where she had worked as the on-site manager for more than 35 years. She was a gifted artist, avid master gardener and a devoted volunteer at St. Bridget Catholic Church and Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. She lived her life with integrity, honesty, kindness and humor. Marlu leaves behind many devoted friends. She was especially grateful to her closest friends for their loving care and support during her final days. Heartfelt gratitude goes out to Monsignor William Carr, Father Brian Capuano and Father David Stanfill for all their prayers and blessings during her illness. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at St. Bridget Catholic Church,  Richmond, Va. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at St. Emerich Catholic Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Marlu’s name to St. Bridget Catholic Church, 6006 Three Chopt Road, Richmond, Va. 23226, or Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, 1800 Lakeside Ave., Richmond, Va. 23228.
