Phyllis V. Reese Fuller

LOWER ALSACE TOWNSHIP — REESE FULLER – Phyllis V., 94, Lower Alsace Township, formerly of Shillington and Davidsville,  passed away Dec. 8, 2013, at 9:07 a.m. in her home.  She was the wife of the late James E. Reese Sr., who passed away Sept. 2, 1988, and the late Robert L. Fuller, who passed away Oct. 19, 2003.  Born in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Grace (Hammers) Griffith.  She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stony Creek Mills.  Phyllis, affectionately known as Gram, loved wearing hats, was an accomplished painter and poet, was an avid gardener,  enjoyed playing rummy, butterflies, dogs, tea parties, playing bingo, visiting the casinos, was an avid voter and served as a former member of the Woman’s Club of Exeter Township.  She was very spiritual and above all loved her family.  She was employed by Mount Penn High School working in the cafeteria, employed as a secretary for Antietam Valley Recreation and Community Center for 12 years and retiring in 1976, worked for Beane’s Food Market in Reading and for four years and worked at Goodwill Industries in Shillington.   She is survived by her son, James E. Reese Jr., husband of Catherine Reese, Jacksonville, Fla.; her daughters, Patricia R. Beane, wife of Robert J. Beane, Reiffton; Nancy J. Henrich, companion of the late Kenneth Clark, Wyomissing; and Wanda R. Bausher, wife of John L. Bausher, Reiffton; her stepson, Raymond D. Fuller, Johnstown; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.  She also is survived by her brothers, the Rev. William G. Griffith, Johnstown, and Donald Griffith, Butte, Mont.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert, John and  Richard Griffith, Katherine Fuller and Betty Grace Lamison. Funeral service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, the Rev. Catherine Feil and the Rev. Janice Wohlrab, officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.  The family will receive family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1375 Freidensburg Road, Reading, Pa. 19606 or the Berks County Blind Association, 2020 Hampden Blvd., Reading, Pa. 19604, in memory of Mrs. Phyllis V.
