JOHNSTOWN — BLAZOSKY – Mary Ann, 86, Johnstown, formerly of State College, died Nov. 30, 2013, at Richland Woods Assisted Living. Born March 8, 1927, in State College, the daughter of Frederick Bottorff and Mary (Dreibelbis) Tate. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Nancy Lee Blazosky; sister, Minnie Tate; brothers, Freddy Tate and Lee Tate; and niece, Nancy Muncy. Survived by husband of 61 years, John Martin Blazosky, and daughters, Dotty (Blazosky), married to Marshall Smith, Virginia, and Ruth Ann, married to Tim Leventry, Johnstown. Also survived by grandchildren, LeeAnn Smith, married to Matthew Weintraub, and their son, Noah, California; Thomas Smith, Virginia; Lea, married to Matt Kleespies, Murrysville; Amy, married to Neal Diehl, State College; Lisa Leventry, West Virginia; and Charlie Leventry, Johnstown. Sister of Martin, married to Nancy Tate; Joyce Dewilde; Dolly Tate; and Jack, married to Sue Ellen Tate, all of Virginia. Mary was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in State College. Mary was an RN who did her post-graduate work at The Medical College of Virginia. Mary was a scrub nurse at the Centre Community Hospital in Bellefonte and volunteered for the American Red Cross blood banks. She was the owner and operator of Blazosky’s Tropical Fish Store for 20 years. She was a member of the State College Garden Club and Nurse’s Club and enjoyed making seasonal flower arrangements for the local nursing homes. She also was a square dance instructor for Center Squares and helped raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, primarily through an annual plant sale. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville, and from 1 until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, State College, Pastor Charles Fitzgerald officiating.
