Merton Thomas Jones

SEWARD — JONES – Merton Thomas, 61, Seward, died Oct. 10, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Aug. 10, 1951, in Indiana, son of Merton S. and Minnie (Cherry) Jones. Preceded in death by father and brother, Roger Jones. Survived by mother of Seward; children, Derek Anderson, and fiancee, Nicki Jamison, Armagh; Monica (Anderson) Sowers, and husband, Jeff, Bolivar; and Jayme (Carlton) Cole, and husband, Calvin; and Michelle Carlton, both of Albany, Ga.; and grandchildren, Taylor, Nick, Chase, Madison and Evan. Brother of Stanley R., and wife, Cindy, Seward; Kathleen Hunt, Knox; William J., Seward; and Ethel Gregory, and husband, Don, Knox. Loving uncle to several nieces and nephews.  Member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed playing his guitar and spending time with his faithful dog, Bumpy. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh, Pa. Interment, Penn View Mount Tabor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses. Online condolences may be left at
