JOHNSTOWN — KRUPA – John Joseph, 69, Johnstown, died Oct. 12, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 15, 1943, in Johnstown. Preceded in death by parents, Anna Tremko Krupa and Joseph John Krupa. Survived by wife, Rita; sons, Jay Michael, Johnstown; and John Theodore, and wife, Julie Krupa, Altoona; grandchildren, Chad Curtis Michael and McKenzie Elyse Krupa, Johnstown; and Courtney Lynn and Abigail Elizabeth, Altoona; siblings, including sisters, Mary Ritchey, Johnstown; Patricia Ann Alveraz, Sumpter, S.C.; and Delores Inman, Johnstown; and brothers, Frank Foster Krupa, Warren, Pa.; Edward Krupa, Johnstown; Eugene Krupa, St. Michael; and Michael Krupa, Johnstown. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Mary, married to Dr. Joel Borkow; Anna Catherine, married to Edward Sekerski; and Theodora Mae Pappas; brother-in-law, Theodore James Pappas; and numerous nieces and nephews. John was born and raised in Johnstown and is a 1961 graduate of Johnstown High School. He served in the Air Force from 1961 to 1963 and spent time in Vietnam. John later graduated from IBM Computer and Business School in Pittsburgh. John worked in Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown and U.S. Airways until he retired several years ago. John enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and grandchildren, was an avid golfer and a competitive racquetball player and cyclist. He enjoyed going to plays with his wife and family in Pittsburgh. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Friends are invited to a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Clement Catholic Church, Father William Rosenbaum, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Memorial Medical Center, 1087 Franklin St., Johnstown, Pa. 15905, in honor of John.
