LORETTO — MILLER – Albert “Pete,” 84, Lincoln Road, Loretto, died Oct. 9, 2012, in the emergency room of Altoona Regional. Born May 14, 1928, in Ashville, son of the late Columbia and Ema Florence (Hollen) Miller. Preceded in death by first wife, the former Virginia “Toots” Smithbower, on Sept. 11, 2000; infant brother, John; brother, Junior; and sisters, Ida Schmidt and Orvita Wagner. Survived by wife, the former Bonnie Leonard Conrad, whom he married Sept. 16, 2006, in Loretto; children, David (Tammy), Bellefonte; Nadine Gregory (Ronald), Johnstown; Donald (Deb), Beaverdale; and Thomas, Chest Springs; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; 23 stepgrandchildren; brother, Clair (Mabel), Port Hueneme, Calif.; and sister, Laverne Passanita (Joe), Ashville. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Pete enjoyed his morning coffee with family, playing cards, bingo, woodworking, hunting and camping. He worked at Hollidaysburg Railroad Shops for a number of years and retired in 1981 from PennDOT, Ebensburg. Former member of Killbuck  Squares, Patton. Member of Basilica of St. Michael, Loretto, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Friday, the Rev. Timothy Swope, celebrant. Committal, St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where vigil service will be held Thursday afternoon.
